The 2 Weekend in October, Saturday 10.10.09 to Montag12.10.09 we were in Chapman State Park for a family camping Weekend. Deanna has organized everything, our accommodation was a Yurt (Mongolian tent, find it at Wikipedia.de), it has zuessen prepared for a whole week and shopped and packed everything for camping. Deanna, Katherine and Corbin (Katherine's boyfriend) are driven up on Saturday morning to all there to judge and to prepare for a great weekend together. When Elizabeth came home from work are Floyd, Elizabeth and I met with the truck and canoe.
We had a cozy weekend with a lot of fun rides with good card games in the evening and a short walk or canoe on the lake. On Sunday we are on a small apple festival went close by and were well entertained by the there kompetierenden Luber Jacks, see photos and video.
Monday came very quickly and we had to leave again for a beautiful autumn weekend. Columbus has its own public holiday here in the U.S., and this year it was Monday the 12th October, for a long weekend and we all accounts get the day off. Many holidays are here on certain days, so it is not always the same date every year. Pregnancy,
now been 6 months are up, and only three months before our little baby holds us awake nights, well, I my not quite so dramatic, but our lifestyle will change well, I'm told. I personally think I look forward to, but I am not so sure, after all I have for my time in the gym or'm afraid ;-) lol (laught out loud) I am happy but I feel useless at the moment because I was not much can help with pregnancy. Elizabeth is doing well, the belly is so slow away, socks and shoes are hard work for you, because they can hardly reach to their feet, but she still holds on anything. So far she has not received a swollen feet, but this can not last longer as long as it works at the supermarket and standing there as a cashier almost all 8 hours must luckily she only gets about 20 hours work a week. Last Friday, she finished her last day of their teachers and can now focus on their master work, so they can finish this winter, finished with her studies.

Day five

Our last day for forerst The last time we have our car with everything we brought fully loaded and made our way home . We are North-West to 1000 Islands region down and have a small break in the Alexandria Bay made. A tourist town like Virginia Beach, from there we went directly via I-90 back home. After a long day in the car we were happy to bed us in our own bed. We have put 1000 miles on our car back, well I have replaced oil and oil filter before our trip.

Day four

Three days have passed and our time is already here in the Adirondacks almost back to. So far we have not yet climbed a mountain here but we both want to at least have climbed the mountain entirely, so we have opened in the northern part where the mountains are a little bigger. After we have our tent set up on our last camping place, near the "Whiteface Mountain, we are driven to the foot of the mountain. This mountain, and especially the town of Lake Placid were the venues for the Olympic Winter Games in 1930 and 1980. Having a short walk one stuck far up the mountain are followed, we had the rest of the mountain on the ski slopes rising up. Relatively steep, with the advantage to quickly get up and out to enjoy a beautiful view, the way was pretty exhausting for Elizabeth, I too had it not so easy. Once at the approximate halfway point where all the other people take the elevator, we have a little break eingeleg strengthen us to something and take photos. From here we went up only steeper, but to get a little easier, here are the stones were small and not as slippery as further down the mountain. The total ascent and descent with breaks was 5 ¼ hours. We were both really happy and tired when we arrived at choosing Smart car. As a reward, we ate in Lake Placid at a Greek restaurant for dinner and then have gone to sleep 8:30 pm.

Day Three

Last night we stayed dry, not like the other campers, almost all other people with tents had their tents, mattresses and sleeping bags to dry hang.
After breakfast we are to have boat rentals and there borrowed a canoe for the day. We are in the boats directly to Rollins Pond, the name of the campsite is the same as the lake down and have a really romantic and nature-related Canoeing on four different lakes made, which are arranged so that we are after 3 ½ hours later arrived at the boat rental. The lakes were small romantic streams, where trees lie across the water and small dams produce re-routing of water. At one point we had the canoe out of the water and who for ¼ mile through the forest had to go to sea in the past. On our trip on the water we have seen a Bald Eagle (Bold Eagle), we could even paddle to within 15 meters, Liz has taken pictures while I paddled cautiously. After we have inserted a lunch break, we have the canoe with my fishing equipment and are loaded on Rollins Pond fish gone. That was not such a good idea because I have lost very quickly my patience, the wind was so strong that we are driven off standing, still have Liz and I each have a small Sunfish and I still caught a small perch (Zander). There was really no fun!
the evening, we have not done much after we brought the canoe back it was already 6:00 pm, then we have to eat our evening and the sunset views over Rollins Pond, then we have located tired to sleep in the tent.

Day Two

Our first night camp went well, we both slept well and were full of energy for our 2nd Wedding anniversary. After breakfast and a warm shower we have our car again eliminated completely, and our tent and everything else back in the car to pack up.
We have decided on the eve toward Tupper Lake to drive, because there driving a nice place to canoe should be. From Cranberry Lake we went a little north-east, moved into deeper into the Adirondacks, Tupper Lake past the Wildlife Museum in the town of Tupper L.
The weather forecast for fourth day August was cloudy in the afternoon, so we decided to have us go into the museum. The museum deals with the animals in the Adirondacks and especially with the emergence of the Adirondacks during the Ice Age. It shows how the lakes are developed and it explains how species have developed differently in different lakes. They had there otters, brown trout, rainbow trout, salmon, mice, frogs, etc., a small collection of animals from the National Park After we finished our walk through the garden behind the museum, we have to find our campsite made for the next two nights.
arrived at our campsite, we pitched our tent and a LARGE flat as rain protection over our tent excited because it still could have been raining, although it has not rained all day and maybe even the hottest day of our vacation was. Because today our 2nd Wedding day, we are expected to dinner. I can not remember what we had, the food was good but nothing special, then we bought us some ice cream and have made back then on the way to the campsite. It was not long then it was too dark to lessen to some, so we made our way to the bathhouse. Ready bed we get out of the bath house, and it starts to rain a little and every minute it is put, more and also the lightning and the thunder, a happiness that we had everything already packed away as soon as we our tents achieved had the heavens opened its gates and buckets full of water rained down on us, Liz has jumped directly into the tent, but I had to attach the tarp a little better, because the wind has arisen unexpectedly shaken vigorously for everything. last holiday, for Elizabeth, the first week off since last year June and for me the first summer vacation since last year, in other words, our first holiday together in the U.S., since we live here now already for a year. We started our vacation with a lot of housework and packing, because we would want to return to a clean and tidy house from holiday. On the way there, we decided that our first stop, first night, lake, would be in Cranberry. Since we are at 6:00 am driven from home ahead, we are already at 1:30 pm on our first campsite lake arrived in Cranberry. Half an hour later we were on our first walk.

It was one of the few good days this summer, the 10th Julie was very sunny and warm in a long time and I loved Liz times a day off, even together! We had tickets for the Nickelback concert in Darien Lake, near the city of Buffalo, its U.S. have launched tour, and because Darien Lake a popular leisure park is and wanted to give us a long time something good we have the two things each other. During the day we were in the park and rides are moved and had our fun, but the highlight of the day was still ahead. Although I went alone on the Superman roller coaster that goes very high up and ver .. mt soon and I really am not a roller coaster freak had, so already had a certain peak. It is to be compared not with the anticipation that I had made to finally see Nickelback live in concert. Now it's already June, our work at the old house in Chautauqua Institution has ended and many of the inhabitants are back, back in from their winter stay south or where it just is warm in winter. The institution has to work a two-month season in which no city can be found within this fence, no noise and other nuisances. The season starts around mid-June and always goes on until mid or late August. During the off season, then the houses hundreds of workers busy for the next season to build new, too make or alter. Right now it's like in a pile of ants, thousands of workers, painters, carpenters, electricians, landscape architects, gardeners, etc., are hard working and try to be ready before the season begins with their work.
