How Does This Wax Looks Like

Last Wednesday of the season

Wednesday 29 September

Today is the last Wednesday of the paddle year - the day after, on 1 October begins the next. The early sunset makes it now very clearly evident already, forcing us to turn back before we have enough.

While temperatures today are quite fresh, the sun seems inclined to mercy on us and covers the landscape and warm colors.

The wind blows almost imperceptibly from Northeast and it is unusually quiet. There is something melancholy in the air over the tendency to late summer and the premonitions of a cold are ever more widely ...

After all the rain in the last week of sunny and mild day Wednesday attracted several athletes on the water to enjoy the late summer. The parking at the keel line were accordingly full. Fortunately, I came by bike to the clubhouse :-). Not only were we canoeists outside but in rowers, sailors, two Coast Guard boats, a lifeboat and in the Heikendorfer Bay was the multi-purpose landing craft "loop" of the Federal Navy. They probably all wanted to enjoy the beautiful atmosphere at the fjord.

Our tour took us past the eastern shore harbor in the bay Heikendorfer to buoy 12 before the U-boat memorial Möltenort. On the way back to the Canoe Association, we could still observe a regatta. The sailors came with lots of colorful spinnakers from the inner fjord sailing along, and turned on the red barrel in front of kids mountain. An armada of boats sailing under spinnaker with appropriate lighting is just photogenic. After the boats arrived

cleaning and clearing up we are still up in the clubhouse for Klönschnack. On such an evening, I always think: The move from the Swabia was worth it!

Sunday, September 19, 2010

The morning rain has nine canoeists our canoe association can not prevent, a classic "5 Lakes Tour" to break. Once in Plön the rain stopped and came later during the tour only twice very briefly. We had therefore the right spot paddle area this Sunday selected. The journey of Spitzenort on the Lake Plön and Fegetasche the Landgasthof Kasch, where we ate our lunch and cake. Before we started again after the break lospaddelten Daniel a crayfish in the water. After we had examined him, he came back into the water.

On the way back we met two canoes of the WPF, otherwise we were up on the pleasure boat quite alone on the lakes.

The new Stena

Wednesday 1 September

From today the new Stena operates between Kiel and Jöteborj! Normally, we will always meet the ferry, when we return from our tour Wednesday. But with the change of the ships, the shipping company has also changed the departure time and pushed back by half an hour. In addition, the new ferry arrived this morning with four hours late from Gothenburg and the loading is therefore not yet complete. Karen will not miss the opportunity and moves to the horns to welcome the new ferry.

Although this is not beauty, but significantly more truck can take on board as its predecessor. And that's just what brings the money! As long as the Fehmarn Belt is not yet over with a fixed bridge, the business will be worth determined. We will get used to the sight - and frankly, we have been through worse!
